When you connect your email account(s) to Moose Mail, we access:

  • Your email messages, attachments, and metadata
  • Your email labels and folders
  • Your contacts (for autocomplete functionality)
  • Basic profile information (name, email address, profile picture)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

  • Display and manage your emails within the Moose Mail interface
  • Perform email actions you request (send, archive, delete, label, etc.)
  • Provide AI-powered features when you explicitly use them
  • Cache emails locally for offline access and performance

4. Data Storage

Local Storage: Emails are cached in your browser's IndexedDB for offline access and performance. This data stays on your device.

Server Storage: We store minimal data on our servers, including your authentication tokens (encrypted), app preferences, and snooze schedules. We do not store the content of your emails on our servers.

5. Third-Party Services

Moose Mail integrates with:

  • Google Gmail API: To access and manage your Gmail account
  • FastMail JMAP: To access and manage your FastMail account
  • Microsoft Graph API: To access and manage your Outlook account
  • Anthropic Claude API: For AI-powered email features (only when you use AI features)

Each of these services has their own privacy policies that govern their handling of your data.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We only share data as necessary to provide the service (e.g., sending your composed emails through your email provider).

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure token storage, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

You can:

  • Disconnect your email accounts at any time
  • Clear your local cache through browser settings
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Revoke Moose Mail's access through your email provider's security settings

9. Children's Privacy

Moose Mail is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
